LHIN 3 & 4 Project
In August 2009, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) and Niagara Health System (NHS) joined the SWODIN network, becoming the first hospitals in LHIN 3 and 4 to connect.
Training begins this fall for clinicians, radiologists and other caregivers. Once training is complete, clinicians will be able to view a patient’s diagnostic imaging record, including images taken at other hospitals in the network, at any time.
Remaining hospitals in LHIN 3 and 4 connect to the DI-r by September 2011. Caregivers affiliated with these hospitals will be given access and trained to view images and reports as these hospitals are connected.
This project is managed by Mohawk Shared Services, a shared services organization providing DI-r Services to the participating hospitals in LHINs 3 and 4. Mohawk will purchase the DI-r Service from London Health Sciences Centre, acting on behalf of the hospitals in LHIN 1 and 2).
